Carol and I visited the John Lautner Retrospective at UCLA’s Hammer Museum last year.
You’ve seen many of Lautner’s works, but might not have known his name.
Julius Shulman is the amazing person who photographed his work, and the work of many other modern architect since the 30s. His architectural photographs are stunning… and unique because he usually had people in the photos. He wanted to show how the homes were lived in, not just what the architecture was like.
The film “Visual Acoustics” opened on Friday 6 Nov 2009 and only plays for a week. It’s at the Landmark Shattuck Theatres at 2230 Shattuck Avenue in downtown Berkeley.
Hope to see you there.
