Paris might have Rue Cler … but Berkeley has Hopkins Street in Northbrae!
I remembered walking down Rue Cler with Carol many years ago … a magical place.
And then I thought about Art Kinsey opening Northbrae Bottle Shop where Monterey Liquors had been for many years.
Coffee, Fish, Produce, Meet, Wine, Pizza, Flowers, Cheese, Pastries and more on two short blocks. Heaven!

I really liked Berkeley, but it’s hard to compare a capital like Paris with a small town as Berkeley, you can find more things in Paris.
But I agree about Monterey’s Market, the quality of fresh vegetables is unbeatable and their diversity.
