Berkeley has changed a lot since I moved here in 1974 … and I often go by places and think “that used to be …”
I went to Looking Glass Photo (Great Customer Service) tonight, then took Carol to dinner at Looney’s Smokehouse at 2190 Bancroft Way
She asked “what did this used to be”
And with that, I realized it was time to start blogging about it!

This is a cool thread, Ira. So many great places (I’m not saying that EBMUD offices was one of them!) Let me know if you ever run out of ideas. That corner also was a succession of restaurants including, if I am not mistaken, at least one of Berkeley’s ubiquitous Thai restaurants. I love Looney’s!! great beers, food and the people that run the place are wonderful.
