And a letter from the sellers to you

Welcome to 2209 Glen Ave, Berkeley and this North Berkeley neighborhood. We’ve loved living here, and hope you will too. The layout of this house helped our family stay close-knit, yet allowed us to have enough space to work, study and relax.

Since we made this house our home, we’ve become a part of multiple communities and been inspired by the California food scene. This neighborhood has so much to offer, from parks to restaurants, farmers markets, bookstores, libraries, community and arts centers, and schools. The fact that it is both walkable and bikeable promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Over the years, we’ve spent hundreds of hours at Live Oak, Codornices, Tilden Park and Lake Anza. Whether playing in the playground, scooting around on the basketball courts, climbing trees or hiking up to a hidden waterfall, this neighborhood has an infinite supply of outdoor adventures that are accessible by foot.

In terms of schools, both of our sons attended Beth El Nursery School, just 300ft down from the house. This was extremely convenient when they were very young. Now that they are in elementary school, we normally commute with them by bike, then park our bikes at the free Berkeley City Valet downtown.

The Gourmet Ghetto, as this neighborhood is called, has an inspiring food scene. On lazy weekend mornings, we normally walk to Saul’s Deli, Cheeseboard Collective or Pete’s Coffee, then hop over to Books Inc or the library to scroll through books. Weeknight meals are eased with the help of places like Poulet and Epicurious Gardens. And the incredible produce of Monterey Market and Berkeley Bowl help inspire home cooking.  If you need some cooking lessons, the ‘Kitchen On Fire’ cooking school is located above Epicurious Gardens.

All this said, without even mentioning the incredible University with its academic and cultural opportunities.

We’ve loved living here, but are now making a move closer to family. We will miss all that this wonderful neighborhood has to offer, but hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

The Louvton Family
