Things
to do |
| | Cesar Chavez Park |
| A restaurant with a spectacular bay view doesn't usually have food to match... but Skates By The Bay is the exception. It's has an astonishing Bay, Golden Gate, and San Francisco view.... and outstanding food to match! Their Omaha Steaks are "like butta"
The Marina is a great place to take the kids. It's home to the Berkeley Fishing Pier (which I believe was once a ferry terminal), a Marina with Bay Cruises, a lovely Radisson Hotel (you'll hear the foghorns ... a sound I enjoy), Cesar Chavez Park (site of the annual Bay To Barkers parade for 4 legged pooches... and their people, and a Kite Festival.
There's also an Adventure Park for the kids.

| |
| | Hornblower Yachts | 800-668-4322 | We've been on some lovely cruises on Hornblower Yachts... including on evening on the bay on the 4th of July.
Be warned, though. The 4th of July can be very cold in San Francisco!

| |
| |
| | Radisson Hotel | 200 Marina Blvd Berkeley CA 510-548-7920 | A pleasant hotel on San Francisco Bay! The rooms have a notice ... if you're having trouble sleeping because of the foghorns, they'll give you a free pair of earplugs. I really like the sound and find it soothing.
Richard Kumar (our Hong Kong Tailor who has helped me uprgrade to Ira Version 2.0 ) stays here when he comes to town. Email him at MensWearCreations@yahoo.com when you'd like beautifully tailored clothes at fair prices.

If there
were a Pantheon dedicated to Pizza, Cheese Board
would be Zeus, Arinell would win the award for “most
like NY style”, Lococos and Cugini would be lesser
gods... and Zachary’s would be mere mortals..
Zachary’s keeps on getting awards, but I think that’s only because
the Cheese Board is only open limited hours druing the daytime |

Excellent
Thai food... their Pad Thai is very good. The smells
sometimes waft up to our office. We’ve two Thai Restaurants
on upper Solano Avenue. Check out Boran and Sweet
Basil and let us know which is your favorite. I enjoyed
my meal at Sweet Basil far more than a much more
expensive dinner at Emeril's in New Orleans |
